International Issues

Experience shows that freer economies produce greater wealth, health and a cleaner environment. The world’s worst environmental disasters occurred in countries such as the former Soviet block, where the economy was tightly controlled by the government. NCPA scholars believe that the best way to improve the environmental quality around the world is to promote free-market policies in developing countries whose people due to conditions of poverty often over-exploit and destroy their natural resources in search of short-term survival.
