The National Commission on Energy Policy: “Bipartisanship”: The Cover for a Government Energy Takeover

Despite the moderation implied by its official-sounding name, the National Commission on Energy Policy's (NCEP) radical policy platform calls for the federal government to control energy planning in America. A "project" of the innocuous-sounding Bipartisan Policy Center, NCEP actually is funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, which has used NCEP to write and promote the Bingaman-Specter bill to regulate CO2 emissions. NCEP claims the dual threats of terrorism and global warming require government regulation over the energy economy.
