Building Bridges without New Taxes
There are legitimate concerns about the safety of the nation’s bridges and overpasses, increasing the federal gas tax is unnecessary. However, Congress can ensure the soundness of the nation’s bridges and overpasses without raising taxes, simply by shifting existing funds within the transportation budget, without sticking it to poor drivers.
